Part of a new generation of products this system had three versions of the 1RU and 2RU systems to allow for configurability.
The challenge was to get all six versions to fit the design language with as many common components as possible and minimal room for branding elements.

I led the Industrial Design for this product from concepts to sustaining for the initial design as well as two minor and one major upgrade. The updates included working with engineers in China on cost-cutting and design for assembly and manufacturing efforts.
In addition to the larger system design, this project also included a new battery back-up unit that needed to fit within an existing hard drive opening and be easily accessible while the system was running.
